“It Just Feels Right”
Why this phrase doesn't move me anymore.
“It just feels right.”
That was the phrase engraved inside my wedding ring.
That marriage lasted three years.
I heard the exact same phrase in a sales call the other day.
The guy said, “It just feels right,” when explaining how he decides whether a client is aligned and whether he actually wants to work with them one-on-one for an entire year.
With that phrase, he lost me.
I guess I’ve moved past the stage of making decisions based only on feelings.
Yes, feelings like fear, shame, and guilt give us direction.
They point toward the transformation we are here to live through. They are opportunities for our own evolution.
But as a foundation for relationship and business decisions, feelings are not always the best measurement.
I’m speaking from experience.
A lot of these feelings are nothing more and nothing less than trauma bonds.
The person or the business opportunity feels “aligned” because it feels familiar.
Because it repeats the same patterns that don’t serve your growth.
The same patterns that keep you stuck in the old version of yourself you are trying to escape.
As an empathetic woman who feels deeply, it took me quite a few intense experiences to learn how to see things more neutrally.
To understand that feelings are here to be felt, but they don’t necessarily have to become the foundation of my decisions.
Feelings simply flow through me.
I am not my feelings.
They are just part of the human experience.
If “just be yourself” and “post whatever you want to attract the aligned clients” does not work for you, my The Golden Rebellion 3-months business mentoring experience is for you.
Inside The Golden Rebellion, we don’t build businesses based only on what feels comfortable, familiar, or “aligned.” You consciously choose who you are becoming and make decisions from that identity.
